Who is able to get Post Study Work Visa
- Graduates who accomplished a Level 7 or greater professional program in New Zealand with a length of 30 weeks or extra OR
- Graduates who accomplished the Degree 4-6 skilled program in New Zealand for 60 weeks or extra OR
- A graduate who has accomplished two Level 4-6 professional programs in New Zealand, with a length of 30 weeks or extra each if the final program was greater than the earlier one.
- You can even get the Post Study Work Visa twice if these situations are met, and the final program is greater than the earlier one.
For instance, you acquired a work visa after graduating from Graduate Diploma Level 7. If you happen to then studied for an additional year on Postgraduate Diploma Level 8, you may as well apply for this visa.

Duration of the visa
3 years
- If you happen to complete the Bachelor Degree Level 7 program, or the Level 8, 9 and 10 program, after studying for a minimum of one year (from 30 weeks).

- If you happen to graduate from a Graduate Diploma Level 7 program outside of Auckland after a minimum of one year of study (from 30 weeks), then you might be eligible for an open work visa for two years.
However it is just applicable if this system ends before December 31, 2021. - If you happen to complete another Level 7 program exterior of Auckland after a minimum of one year of study (30 weeks or extra), you might be eligible for an open work visa for two years.

From 2022, international college students who complete their research at levels 4-6 after two years of study or after graduating from level 7 (non-degree) might be eligible for a one-year post-study work visa.
In the event that they complete their studies on a Graduate Diploma program required for acquiring professional registration, one extra year of open post-study work visa could be granted.
Students who graduate from Bachelor degree 7 programs and above will proceed to be eligible for three-year post-study work visas.

Required documents
- Work Visa Application Form and Passport
- Educational documents appropriate for the circumstances of obtaining a visa
- Bank statement with NZ $ 4200 within the account
- X-ray and medical examination outcome, if not provided earlier
- Certificate of no criminal record, if not supplied earlier
