UK Government GREAT Scholarships

Scholarships

The UK Government is currently inviting applications for the UK Government GREAT Scholarships 2022/2023 from suitably qualified students. This is mainly available for candidates from eligible African and Asian countries.

The scholarship is funded by the UK Government, the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council. This is done together with participating UK higher education institutions, and funded for one-year postgraduate study in UK.

Financial Benefit: Minimum of £10,000 per awardee

Number of Awards: 8 to 9 scholarships per country per year

Eligible Countries: Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Thailand.

Eligibility for Study UK GREAT Scholarships

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, you must:

  • be a citizen of an eligible country (listed below).
  • have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to enter a postgraduate (taught) programme in a UK university
  • be motivated and academically able to follow a UK postgraduate course
  • active in the field with work experience or proven interest in the subject area
  • meet the English language requirement of the UK university

Application Procedure

Eligible candidates who would like to apply for the UK Government GREAT Scholarships are to fulfill the following steps:

  1. On the ‘find a scholarship’ page, filter the universities listed and click on the university page to access detailed information about the scholarships on offer.
  2. Apply for individual scholarships following the instructions given on each universities’ scholarship webpages.
  3. Successful scholars will be informed by individual universities on the result of their applications.
  4. Scholarship funding will be issued to successful scholars by individual universities after registration.

Application Deadline: The deadline to apply varies according to each host institution. For details on individual institutions’ deadlines, please visit the institution page.

Scholarship Coverage

Great Scholarships will provide the recipient with the following benefits:

  • Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course.

How to Apply for Great Scholarships

  1. A candidate has to filter out the universities according to his country of origin.
  2. A candidate must apply for the acceptance letter before or while applying for the scholarship.
  3. A candidate has to apply for GREAT scholarships online before the deadline.
  4. The application deadline varies according to university admission deadlines.
