The Saskatchewan Immigrant Candidates Program (SINP) is an immigration route for eligible immigrants to settle in Saskatchewan as a permanent resident. Overview of SINP
Saskatchewan Immigrant Candidate Program – SINP is Saskatchewan’s state candidate program that allows the state to select/nominate eligible immigrants to live in the state as permanent residents. There are four subcategories under SINP.

2. Saskatchewan Experience Category – For immigrants currently working and living in Saskatchewan. Subcategories are:

- Students
3. Entrepreneurs & Farms Category – For entrepreneurs who want to run their own business in Saskatchewan and experienced farmers who want to buy and run a farm in the state
4. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category – For international students who have graduated from a state post-secondary institution and intend to start a business in the state.
Like his other PNPs, SINP has an “enhanced” stream that works with the Express Entry Program. SINP international experts: The Express Entry subcategory allows states to search the federal express pool for qualified immigrants with the required work experience. 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points will be awarded to expedited applicants upon receipt of a local endorsement certificate.

Innovative changes in SINP
SINP’s most important sector, the International Skilled Workers (ISW) sector, has undergone positive changes. This category allows states to target immigrants with professional skills or work experience that are in demand in the state. Previous applications were made shortly after admission. It has been replaced by the Expression of Interest (EOI) system. The system allows eligible candidates to submit their profile to the pool, improve their profile while standing in the pool, and receive an invitation to apply (ITA).
SINP also replaced the list of permitted occupations (called the demand list) with a list of excluded occupations instead. This led to an increase in the number of eligible occupations to 218.
What are the requirements to apply for SINP?
Every category under SINP has different requirements that allow them to select immigrants with the required credentials. Here, we will discuss the basics of SINP’s International Skilled worker immigration category.
For candidates to be eligible to apply under International Skilled Worker: Saskatchewan Express Entry they are required to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must score a minimum of 60 points out of 110 in SINP Point Assessment Grid;
- Need to take a language test that meets the Express Entry language requirements with minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5;
- Must complete post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship that must be equal to the Canadian education system (Diploma, Certificate or Degree);
- At least one year of work experience in an eligible occupation in the past 10 years;
- Work Experience must be in the field of completed post-secondary education;
- May be required to provide with proof of Professional Status or proof of eligibility for Licensure for your occupation;
- Demonstrate proof of settlement funds and also a settlement plan;
Once you can meet all the minimum requirements, the candidate is required to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile through an online portal “OASIS”. Once the EOI profile is created, it is submitted to the Saskatchewan EOI pool along with other candidate profiles. The highest ranked profile in the pool is invited to apply for state nomination.
Once the candidate receives her ITA, they must pay a non-refundable application fee of $350 CAD online via Mastercard or Visa. This is the final stage of the online application.
What is EOI for International Skilled Workers in SINP?
Submitting an International Skilled Worker EOI is not an application to the Saskatchewan Office. This is a pre-application that allows candidates to complete an online form and express their interest in applying to the SINP.
Candidate’s EOI profile is valid for her one year from the date of initial creation. Upon expiration, the candidate must create a new EOI profile for her to remain in the system. Saskatchewan regularly held EOI draws and issued invitations to apply (ITAs). The number of ITAs issued depends on annual processing goals and employment needs. Candidates must submit a completed online application and correct documentation to her SINP within 60 days of receiving the invitation.
