Job Details
Position Title: Contact Centre Advisor
Status: Initiatives and Opportunities (Contract until March 2024)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (hybrid work model- incumbent is required to work a mix of on-campus and remote workdays)
Faculty/Department: The Office of the Registrar
Campus/Location: North Campus
Salary: Min $26.47 – Max $30.69

What you will do:
- The Contact Centre Advisor, who reports to the Manager, Contact Centre, will provide expert advice and assistance on a wide range of general college and academic program information, college-related events and services, academic policy, and college processes, as well as general knowledge of the other areas as needed.
2. The successful candidate must be familiar with programs, courses, academic policies, Humber and Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (MTCU) policies and procedures, college services, and campus events.
3. The following forms of assistance or information requests will be considered:
- Directly responding to enquiries about College and Office of the Registrar services/processes
- Directing particular subject matter queries to specialists in the Office of the Registrar or academic schools as needed for additional assistance
- Providing information and/or directions to various on and off-campus events and services
- Helping students navigate the college website and use MyHumber to access resources
4. The Contact Centre Advisor is responsible for offering information and services via a variety of channels, including phone, email, and, on occasion, in-person.

What you bring to the role: As a Contact Centre Advisor
Education
A two-year diploma from a post-secondary institution will be required of the selected candidate.
Experience
Two years of hands-on experience in a complicated service setting involving financial transactions.
Skills
- Previous experience working in a high-volume Contact Center and/or at a Welcome Desk would be regarded advantageous.
- The incumbent must show initiative by being proactive in addressing client issues.
- To effectively explain complicated rules and procedures, the incumbent must have outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal, listening, customer service, telephone, and organizing abilities are essential.
The capacity to multitask when dealing with frequent interruptions, variable volumes, and looming deadlines. - The capacity to do simple arithmetic.
- The ability to carry out tasks and duties in accordance with established procedures and processes.
- The capacity to perform well under pressure while being confident and prudent; and flexibility in working as a team member or individually.
- Excellent working knowledge of the College, its departments, academic schools, and key employees.
- Strong computer abilities, including proficient keyboarding and web navigation, are also necessary, as is understanding of email software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- A stable internet connection is required.
- To take calls from home/remotely, you must have an appropriate and private workspace. As we are using a hybrid strategy at this time, you should be comfortable working from home/remotely and on-campus. This method may change pending guidance from government officials and public health officials.
- During our busiest periods, you must be able to work overtime.
