Our Marketplace Products team is responsible for improving the experience and success rate for candidates and companies in our marketplace, as well as enabling our applications team to provide exceptional service.

 

As part of our large product team, we are looking for two Backend Engineers (one Intermediate Engineer and one Senior Engineer) to join our Marketplace product team. Our product team is a multidisciplinary team of talented engineers, product managers, and designers who work together to design and deliver effective, high-quality software.

 

You will be part of the Market Products team, enabling us to deliver exceptional service to our application team, improving the experience and success for all market participants. Developer productivity (so React, Graphic, Ruby on Rails), continuous improvement (currently we do Kent C. Dodds epicreact.dev), and customer appreciation are key.

What are you going to do?

Design, test and deliver great backend code weekly to create powerful new features for users and internal operations teams
The design and architecture of the background features are sometimes impressive
Skilled engineers with junior backend experience through active mentoring, code reviews, and internal backend forums
Work with a variety of systems, stakeholders, processes and technologies to solve engineering problems
Support our engineering standards and practices
Solve the problem of service production and help ensure a sustainable program in the market
Design specification documents and architectural decisions
Contribute to technical and product roadmaps

Something that will suit you perfectly

At least 5 years of experience in software development for our senior roles and 3 years for our intermediate roles
At least 3 years of experience working with Ruby on Rails in a production environment
Good at problem solving
Able to clearly explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
Good architectural design skills – focus on patterns, algorithmic complexity, separation of responsibilities, component-oriented design, data modeling
Write test cases to cover all permutations of the additional function
Create documentation for feature design or architecture options so new engineers can start contributing quickly
Experience with databases
Experience with relational databases (mainly MongoDB) is a bonus
