An extensive range of scholarships from the University of Reading Master’s Scholarships 2022 are now open to master’s students. While a few are jointly funded, the University of Reading offers some awards directly, while others are allocated to students by donors and sponsors.
The University is delighted to have available more master’s scholarships in 2022/2023 than in previous years.
Funding Opportunities
The University of Reading’s Master’s Scholarships Scheme offers two funding opportunities:
- Centenary Scholarships: To mark the upcoming 100th anniversary of our Royal Charter, the University is offering 100 scholarships for which all master’s students are eligible to apply. These awards have been allocated to particular countries.
- Subject Scholarships: These awards are provided by most of our Schools and are course–specific. Students may be considered for both this scholarship and the Centenary Scholarship.
Successful candidates may be offered one or both of these scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria: To apply for funding, a candidate must have received an offer of admission to one of our Masters programmes.

- To apply for funding, a candidate must have received an offer of admission to one our master’s courses. The scholarship application form will be made available to eligible students via the me@reading applicant portal, and will be accessible up until the closing date.
- Study may be on a full-time or part-time basis but flexible learning / part-time modular master’s courses are excluded.
- Each scholarship for an international student is worth £4,000 and for UK / Republic of Ireland students (whose tuition fees are ordinarily lower) the amount is £2,000.
- Scholarships take the form of a tuition fee reduction and your tuition fees are confirmed when an offer of admission is made.
- Scholarships are awarded primarily based on previous academic accomplishment.
- There are two rounds of scholarship applications. Round one closes on 1 March 2022 and round two will consider applications received by 15 June 2022. Candidates unsuccessful in round one automatically go forward for consideration in round two, provided they still hold a valid offer of admission to an eligible course.
- Where a candidate is eligible for both a Centenary Scholarship and Subject Scholarship, it is only necessary to complete one application – you will be considered for both awards and it is possible to be selected for both, doubling the amount of funding that we are providing.
