How to immigrate to Dubai

There are six types of visas available for people wishing to immigrate to Dubai. these are:

Work permit

To be eligible for this visa, the applicant must be over the age of 18, hold a valid passport and have a confirmed job offer from a registered company based in Dubai. All formalities required for this visa are handled by the company sponsoring the applicant. This is one of the most used visas for people traveling to Dubai. The visa fee is also paid by the company.

Family visa

A person married to a Dubai resident is eligible for a dependent visa. This visa can also be used by parents wishing to immigrate to their children in Dubai and vice versa. For sponsorship parents, children must be under the age of 18 and unmarried. Some of the requirements for this visa are:

  • The Sponsor must earn at least AED 4,000 per month or AED 3,000 per month plus Company sponsored accommodation to sponsor a spouse or child.
  • Sponsors must earn at least AED 20,000 per month to sponsor a guardian.
    Both parents should support together.
  • If the parents are separated or one parent is deceased, documentation is required to prove this.

The required documents are:

  • Completed application form
  • Sponsor’s original passport
  • Proof of payslip or employment contract from sponsor
  • Family passport photo
  • Copy of family member’s passport
  • Proof of relationship

Evidence that the sponsor is the sole breadwinner of the dependent
A refundable processing fee must be paid when applying for this visa to immigrate to Dubai. This fee will be refunded if the visa is cancelled. It is important to note that women cannot sponsor dependents.

Student visa

To apply for a student visa, the applicant must be a relative in Dubai or sponsored by a university. This visa is valid for him for one year and can be extended later. The required documents are:

  • Valid passport
  • 4 copies of passport
  • 12 passport photos
  • Write admission guide
  • Proof of financial position
  • Proof of residence in Dubai
  • Copy of tuition receipt
  • Copy of visa fee receipt
  • For graduate students, a copy of your bachelor’s degree is also required.

Upon arrival, each student must undergo a health check. Anyone who tests positive for HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, tuberculosis or leprosy will be deported.

Investor visa

This visa is for those who invest a certain amount in Dubai. Investing in Dubai has many advantages including no personal income tax, no capital gains tax and no corporate income tax. Immigrants can invest in existing Dubai-based companies or start their own businesses.

Applicants cannot be employed by any other employer in the UAE without a clearance certificate. This visa is valid for him for 3 years and can be extended. The exact amount to invest depends on your location within Dubai.

Owner visa

Investing in real estate in Dubai qualifies for this visa. The minimum investment in this case is AED 10,00,000. This refers to the purchase price, not the current market value. Property must be residential and ready for occupancy. Applicants must also have a monthly income of at least AED 10,000. You can also sponsor your spouse and children to move to Dubai once the applicant has obtained a residence visa.

The documents required to apply for this visa are:

  • Original passport
  • Original title deed for the property
  • Police Clearance Certificate from Dubai Police
  • NOC from developer
  • 6 passport photos

Naturalization

Foreigners who move to Dubai are often denied citizenship. A child born in the United Arab Emirates acquires citizenship from birth. A person born abroad to a UAE citizen can apply for citizenship upon reaching the age of 18. A woman can acquire citizenship through marriage if the marriage lasts at least three years.

Dual citizenship is not allowed in Dubai. It is also important to note that naturalized citizens do not have the right to stand for office.

Foreigners wishing to apply for citizenship must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must have legally lived in the UAE for at least 30 years
  • Applicant must have sufficient salary
  • Applicants must be of good character
  • Applicant has no criminal record
  • Applicants must have a good knowledge of Arabic
