This is to inform you that the Imperial College London PhD Scholarship 2022-2023 is a fully funded scholarship for international students which covers both tuition fees and an annual tax-free contribution to maintenance costs of £21,400. Imperial offers up to 10 scholarships for suitably qualified candidates annually. Imperial College London opens its arms and invites diversity from outstanding academicians from all over the world.

Eligibility Criteria for Imperial College London PhD Scholarship

To be eligible for Imperial College London PhD Scholarship, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Required Languages: English
  • Eligible Countries: All World Countries
  • Further, they should apply and obtain a place of an offer in ICL, Department of Chemical Engineering.
  • You are expected to have obtained (or be heading for) a First Class Honours degree at Master’s level (or equivalent) in chemical engineering, another branch of engineering or a related science.
  • Also, they should abide by the minimum score for English Language Prociency set by the institution.

How to Apply for Imperial College London PhD Scholarship

Please follow the following application instructions to win Imperial College London PhD Scholarship:

(1) Following documents are needed to be submitted:

  • A personal statement to support your application, which should outline your research interest and experience.
  • Full transcripts of your university studies to date.
  • A copy of your English Language certificate
  • You will be asked to give the e-mail addresses of the referees, which will trigger reference requests directly to the referees.
  • The contact details of 2 referees, at least one of whom must be an academic referee (for example your project supervisor or personal tutor).
  • Please do not upload reference letters, as the references must come directly from the referees. References are confidential between the referee and the College.
  • Please note that the e-mail addresses must be personal institutional addresses (university or company e-mail addresses) rather than web mail addresses, as these are not acceptable.

(2) In order to be considered for the Chemical PhD Scholarships, you will need to submit an application for  admission through the online admissions system from here.

Application Deadline:

  • Round 1:  31 October for entry in October of the following year
  • Round 2:  31 January for entry in October of the same year

Eligibility

  1. Candidates must be in receipt of, or due to receive, a first-class UK degree or equivalent.
  2. Candidates with a standalone Master’s qualification must have achieved a distinction or, where this has yet to have been achieved, be able to provide evidence of high performance that will lead to a distinction. They must also hold a first-class UK undergraduate degree or equivalent (integrated Masters that form part of an undergraduate degree, e.g. MEng, MSci, M.Math, are assessed by Admissions as an undergraduate qualification when determining eligibility). Candidates with multiple standalone Master’s qualifications must have achieved a distinction in the one most relevant to their PhD study.
  3. Applications are accepted from talented candidates from Imperial College London, the UK and worldwide. There are no restrictions on nationality, although some departments may be unable to support international candidates.
  4. Candidates with degrees from overseas institutions should check with the relevant Admissions team if their scores/grades are equivalent to the scholarship entry criteria.
  5. Prior to applying candidates must have made contact with a supervisor in an academic department at Imperial College London who has agreed to supervise their research project.   6. The scheme is only open to new PhD applications. Current registered Imperial PhD students are not eligible to be considered for a President’s PhD Scholarship.
